10-Night BVI & USVI Extended — St. Thomas to Anegada

7 nights Monaco → Antibes ~85 nm

Route Overview

The Route

Day 1 — St. Thomas: Embarkation

Board at American Yacht Harbor or Yacht Haven Grande in St. Thomas (USVI). Charlotte Amalie is a free port of considerable sophistication — Main Street's duty-free shops, the extraordinary 99 Steps stone staircase (actually 103), and the view over the harbour from Fort Blackbeard. Welcome dinner at Oceana restaurant on the waterfront.

Day 2 — St. John: Trunk Bay & Caneel Bay

A 30-minute sail east to St. John — two-thirds national park, with the most protected waters in the USVI. Trunk Bay has an underwater snorkelling trail; Caneel Bay, the Rockefeller-founded resort, has six beaches of extraordinary quality. Anchor in Hawksnest Bay for the afternoon in complete tranquility.

Day 3 — Norman Island (BVI): The Caves

Cross into British Virgin Islands waters (customs clearance required at Jost Van Dyke or Tortola) and sail to Norman Island — the sea caves at Privateer Bay, the William T floating bar, and the beautiful anchorage at The Bight. Overnight in BVI waters.

Day 4 — Tortola: Road Town

Sail to Road Town, Tortola — the BVI capital, with the Callwood Rum Distillery (the oldest operating rum distillery in the Caribbean, founded 1780s), the BVI Folk Museum and the excellent restaurant at Long Bay Beach Club. Provisioning and fuel available at Nanny Cay.

Day 5 — Jost Van Dyke

The island of great social traditions — Foxy's Tamarind Bar, the Soggy Dollar Bar at White Bay, and Sandy Spit (a perfect tiny island with one palm tree). A day of rum punches, white sand and the best swimming in the northern BVI.

Day 6 — Virgin Gorda: The Baths

The iconic BVI experience — The Baths' granite boulder grottos, Spring Bay and the extraordinary clear water of North Sound. Dinner at the rebuilt Bitter End Yacht Club or Saba Rock.

Day 7 — Virgin Gorda: North Sound Free Day

A full day in North Sound — diving, kitesurfing, paddleboarding or simply anchoring in clear water. The Biras Creek resort has an excellent restaurant accessible only by dinghy.

Day 8 — Anegada

The legendary coral island — the most remote anchorage in the BVI, ringed by a horseshoe reef. Anegada lobster at Neptune's Treasure, pink flamingos in the salt pond, and the extraordinary colour of the shallow water over the Anegada Bank.

Day 9 — Cooper Island & Buck Island (USVI)

Return south through Sir Francis Drake Channel to Cooper Island Beach Club — a solar-powered eco resort with a microbrewery and excellent restaurant. Continue to Buck Island (USVI) — the only underwater national monument in the US, with a marked snorkel trail through an extraordinary elkhorn coral forest.

Day 10 — St. Croix

The largest USVI island — Frederiksted and Christiansted, both UNESCO-listed colonial towns. The Rainforest of the western highlands, the Cruzan Rum distillery and the world-class wreck diving at the Frederiksted pier. Final dinner at Savant in Christiansted.

Day 11 — Disembarkation

Disembarkation at St. Croix or return to St. Thomas. Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (St. Croix) connects to Miami and San Juan; Cyril E. King Airport (St. Thomas) has the widest connections.
