5-Night Eastern Cyprus — Larnaca to Limassol
Route Overview
The Route
Day 1 — Larnaca: Embarkation
Board at Larnaca Marina — the closest harbour to Larnaca International Airport (20 minutes). An afternoon visit to the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque on the salt lake (one of the most sacred Muslim sites in the Middle East), the medieval Larnaca Castle and the Church of Saint Lazarus. Welcome dinner in the old town.
Day 2 — Protaras & Cape Greco
Sail east past the famous 'Fig Tree Bay' at Protaras — one of the finest sandy beaches in Cyprus — and round Cape Greco, a national forest park of sea caves and turquoise water. The 'Blue Lagoon' here has water of extraordinary colour; snorkelling is exceptional. Anchor for a swim and lunch aboard.
Day 3 — Ayia Napa & Konnos
Explore the coastline between Cape Greco and Ayia Napa — a succession of small coves and sea caves. Konnos Bay is sheltered and beautiful; the Cyclops Cave (accessible by tender) is one of the largest sea caves in Cyprus. A quieter day of swimming and relaxation.
Day 4 — Governor's Beach & Inland Excursion
Sail west towards Limassol with a stop at Governor's Beach — the unusual black and white chalk cliffs are unique to this stretch of coast. By car to the UNESCO-listed Painted Churches of the Troodos Mountains — Byzantine frescoes hidden in mountain villages that form one of the most extraordinary artistic collections in Cyprus.
Day 5 — Limassol: Final Day
Arrive in Limassol for a final afternoon and evening. The new marina is excellent; the old town with the castle and the Cypriot wine bars (the island produces some excellent Commandaria dessert wine) provide a fitting conclusion to the itinerary.
Day 6 — Disembarkation
Farewell breakfast before disembarkation. Larnaca Airport is 50 minutes east; Paphos Airport 40 minutes west.
