7-Night Grenadines Classic — St. Vincent to Union Island

7 nights Monaco → Antibes ~85 nm

Route Overview

The Route

Day 1 — St. Vincent: Embarkation

Board at Blue Lagoon Marina in St. Vincent — the northernmost island of the Grenadine chain, with lush volcanic scenery and the extraordinary La Soufrière volcano visible from the water. A welcome dinner at Young Island Resort just offshore sets the tropical tone for the week ahead.

Day 2 — Bequia

A 9-mile passage south to the most charming island in the Grenadines — Bequia (pronounced 'Beck-way'). Admiralty Bay is one of the finest protected anchorages in the Caribbean, constantly busy with yachts from around the world. The town of Port Elizabeth has excellent chandleries, the Frangipani Hotel's bar (legendary in yachting circles) and the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary. Dinner at Coco's Place on the waterfront.

Day 3 — Bequia: Whaling Museum & Princess Margaret Beach

A second day on Bequia — the last island in the Caribbean to maintain a traditional (quota-limited) whale hunt, with genuine cultural significance. The whaling museum is fascinating and surprisingly moving. Princess Margaret Beach, accessible only by boat, is beautiful. The northern bays of Friendship and Spring are peaceful alternatives.

Day 4 — Mustique

The private island — home to villas owned by royalty, rock stars and film directors. A Mustique Company permit is required for overnight stays (we arrange this in advance). Basil's Bar on Britannia Bay is the legendary social heart; Macaroni Beach is consistently ranked among the world's finest. The island has its own airstrip and extraordinary tropical gardens.

Day 5 — Canouan

Sail south to Canouan — one of the most beautiful and least-visited islands in the Grenadines. The Carenage Bay anchorage is outstanding; the Trump International Golf Club (now rebranded) occupies the northern hill. The island's reef is excellent for diving and snorkelling. Overnight at anchor in complete tranquility.

Day 6 — Tobago Cays

The crown jewel of the Grenadines — five uninhabited islands within a horseshoe reef, forming one of the finest marine parks in the eastern Caribbean. Hawksbill and loggerhead sea turtles feed on the sea grass beside the yacht; the snorkelling on Horseshoe Reef is extraordinary. Overnight at anchor surrounded by the sound of the trade wind in the palms.

Day 7 — Union Island

The southernmost island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines — a popular stop for transatlantic sailors arriving in the Caribbean. Clifton Harbour has good facilities, a fish market and the view of the Tobago Cays behind you as you arrive is one of the finest in the Caribbean. A farewell dinner ashore at Lambi's restaurant.

Day 8 — Disembarkation

Disembarkation at Union Island. Clifton Airport has connections to Barbados and Grenada; alternatively, we arrange a return passage to St. Vincent for flights to Barbados or Trinidad.
