10-Night Grenadines & Grenada — St. Vincent to Grenada
Route Overview
The Route
Day 1 — St. Vincent: Embarkation
Board at Blue Lagoon Marina. Welcome dinner at Young Island Resort's restaurant with views across the lagoon to St. Vincent's volcanic hills.
Day 2 — Bequia
Admiralty Bay — anchor or berth in the most social harbour in the Grenadines. The Frangipani's rum punch, the turtle sanctuary, Princess Margaret Beach and the best provisioning between Barbados and Grenada.
Day 3 — Bequia: Northern Bays
A second day on Bequia — Friendship Bay on the south coast has a long sandy beach and the excellent Plantation House hotel restaurant. Spring Bay on the east coast is serene and rarely visited.
Day 4 — Mustique
The private island at its most exclusive. An overnight permit allows a full day at Basil's Bar, Macaroni Beach and the extraordinary private gardens of the resident estates. No cars, no day-trippers — just yachts, villas and one of the most perfectly manicured tropical environments in the world.
Day 5 — Canouan & The Windward Bay
Canouan in the morning — the Carenage Bay anchorage, breakfast ashore, then a swim at the extraordinarily clear Glossy Bay on the eastern coast. Continue to the Tobago Cays for an afternoon snorkel.
Day 6 — Tobago Cays
A full day at the Tobago Cays Marine Park — snorkel with sea turtles, dive Horseshoe Reef, explore the uninhabited cays of Baradal, Petit Rameau, Petit Bateau and Jamesby by kayak. Overnight at anchor under an extraordinary star-filled sky.
Day 7 — Mayreau & Saltwhistle Bay
Saltwhistle Bay — a double-sided beach connecting two bays on Mayreau's northern tip. One of the most beautiful and idyllic anchorages in the Caribbean. The tiny Catholic church on the hill overlooks both bays; the village below has a single bar and a remarkable view of the Tobago Cays to the south.
Day 8 — Union Island & Carriacou
Clear customs at Union Island, then cross into Grenadian waters to Carriacou — the largest of Grenada's Grenadine islands. Hillsborough is a charming small town; the annual Carriacou Regatta (July) is one of the finest sailing events in the Caribbean. The northern bays have excellent diving.
Day 9 — Grenada: St. George's
Arrive in St. George's — consistently voted one of the most beautiful capitals in the Caribbean. The horseshoe harbour, the historic Fort George above the bay, the extraordinary Spice Market (nutmeg, mace, cinnamon, cloves — Grenada produces a significant share of the world's spices). Overnight at Port Louis Marina.
Day 10 — Grenada: Grand Anse & Concord Falls
Grenada's famous Grand Anse Beach — 3km of white sand and calm Caribbean water. An inland excursion to the Concord Waterfalls and the rainforest of the Grand Etang National Park. Final dinner at the BB's Crabback restaurant in St. George's — the best lobster and crab in Grenada.
Day 11 — Disembarkation
Disembarkation at St. George's. Maurice Bishop International Airport connects to Barbados, Trinidad and major Caribbean hubs.
