7-Night Malta & Gozo Explorer — Valletta Circuit

7 nights Monaco → Antibes ~85 nm

Route Overview

The Route

Day 1 — Valletta: Embarkation

Board at the Grand Harbour Superyacht Marina — one of the most magnificent approaches in all of yachting, between the fortified bastions of Valletta and the Three Cities. An afternoon walk through the world's smallest UNESCO World Heritage capital city: St John's Co-Cathedral, the Grand Master's Palace and the Barrakka Gardens overlooking the Grand Harbour. Welcome dinner at Rampila restaurant built into the ancient walls.

Day 2 — The Three Cities & Dockyard

Cross the Grand Harbour by traditional dgħajsa (water taxi) to Birgu (Vittoriosa), Senglea and Cospicua — the Three Cities built by the Knights of St John. The Maritime Museum, the Inquisitor's Palace and the extraordinary views from the Upper Barrakka Gardens across the harbour to Valletta. Return to the yacht for a sunset cocktail with the Grand Harbour as backdrop.

Day 3 — Gozo: Mgarr & Ggantija

Sail north through the channel between Malta and Gozo to Mgarr harbour — the ferry port, charmingly coloured with traditional luzzu fishing boats. By car to the prehistoric Ggantija Temples (3600 BC) — older than the Egyptian pyramids and the oldest free-standing stone structures in the world. Lunch at Ta' Rikardu in the Citadella above Victoria.

Day 4 — Gozo: Dwejra & Azure Window (site)

Explore Gozo by sea — the dramatic Dwejra coastline with its inland sea, the site of the former Azure Window (collapsed 2017 but still extraordinary rocky scenery) and the crystal lagoon. Snorkelling in the Dwejra Fungus Rock area is exceptional. Overnight anchor at Marsalforn on Gozo's north coast.

Day 5 — Comino: Blue Lagoon

The famous Blue Lagoon between Comino and Cominotto — arrive before 9am to experience the extraordinary turquoise water without the day-trip crowds. Anchor in the clear shallow water and spend the morning swimming, kayaking and snorkelling. Afternoon walk around the uninhabited island.

Day 6 — Malta North Coast: St Paul's Bay & Mellieha

Explore Malta's northern coast — St Paul's Bay, where the Apostle Paul was shipwrecked in 60 AD, and the long sandy beach at Mellieha Bay, the largest in Malta. The Church of Our Lady of Mellieha, built into a cave, is one of the most visited religious sites on the island. Afternoon return to Valletta.

Day 7 — Marsaxlokk & South Coast

Sail around the south of Malta to Marsaxlokk — the traditional fishing village where the entire harbour is filled with brightly painted luzzu boats. The Sunday fish market is unmissable; the fish restaurants on the quay serve the freshest seafood in Malta. St Peter's Pool and the Blue Grotto nearby are extraordinary sea caves.

Day 8 — Valletta: Disembarkation

Return to the Grand Harbour Superyacht Marina for disembarkation. Malta International Airport is 15 minutes from the Three Cities gate.
