Overview

Cyprus sits at the eastern extremity of the Mediterranean — closer to Lebanon and Israel than to Greece — and its character reflects that crossroads position: Greek Orthodox churches, Venetian fortresses, Ottoman mosques and crusader castles exist side by side. The island is rarely included on the standard charter circuit, which makes it all the more appealing: the anchorages are uncrowded, the locals genuinely welcoming and the seafood extraordinary.

Limassol: Cyprus's main charter base — a modern city with a good marina, an excellent restaurant scene and the Kourion archaeological site nearby.
Paphos: A UNESCO World Heritage old town with remarkable Roman mosaics, the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite at the nearby rock of Petra tou Romiou, and a charming fishing harbour.
Kyrenia (Girne): In the Turkish north — a spectacularly beautiful horseshoe harbour overlooked by a Byzantine-Crusader castle. A politically complex but extraordinary destination.
Cape Greco: The dramatic southeastern headland — sea caves, clear water and the Blue Lagoon at Konnos Bay nearby.
Larnaca: The eastern charter hub — the Hala Sultan Tekke mosque and Salt Lake are worth visiting; excellent access to the Troodos Mountains inland.

Best Season

April to November, with the longest reliable season of any Mediterranean destination. Cyprus enjoys over 300 days of sunshine per year. The sea reaches 28°C in August–September. Winds are generally light — perfect for relaxed family charters.

Charter Considerations

Cyprus is an EU member — standard EU charter regulations apply. Crossing to northern Cyprus (Turkish-controlled) requires specific entry procedures — we advise this in advance. APA 25–30%. Euro currency. Cyprus offers excellent value and superb facilities at Limassol Marina.
